Instructions
1.    Adhere strip of Bashful Blue textured card stock to center of card.
2.    Adhere to Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon to card.
3.    Stamp Be Mine in Old olive ink on square of Whisper White card stock.
4.    Punch out center of heart image with Full Heart punch. Insert Heart Treat Cup and fill.
5.    Peel off adhesive cover and adhere Heart Treat Cup to a second square of Whisper White card stock to seal the cup.
6.    Punch scallops from Real Red textured card stock with Scallop Edge punch. Adhere scallops to back of Whisper White square.
7.    Adhere Whisper White square to card.

Instructions

1. Punch scallop strip from Old Olive textured card stock with Scallop Edge punch. Adhere to card.

2. Adhere strip of Whisper White card stock to card over scallop strip.

3. Stamp heart image in Real Red ink on square of Whisper White card stock.

4. Punch out center of heart image with Full Heart punch. Insert Heart Treat Cup and fill.

5. Peel off adhesive cover and adhere Heart Treat Cup to card.

6. Stamp Heartfelt Thanks in Bashful Blue on card.

7. Tie Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon around card.

Sparkly & Bright Treat Tent

I've been working on some videos over the past few days that I will be posting in the weeks ahead leading up to Christmas. I just love Christmas! I love all the excitement leading up to Christmas day, the decorations and lights and the family traditions. I have two young children who are just filled with anticipation of the Christmas season approaching....how fun!

This is a quick and easy project that you can complete in just a few minutes. It might be a fun project to get the kids involved in too. You will need the following supplies:

6" x 2 3/4" piece of card stock, scored at 2 1/2" in from each end
2 3/4" x 1 1/4" piece of whisper white card stock
2 3/4" x 1" piece of designer series paper or stamped card stock
Corner rounder punch
Double rectangle punch
Scallop circle punch
Stamp of your choice from the "Sparkly & Bright" stamp set
Coordinating ink pad

3D Pumpkin

This is a project I included in my last newsletter. I thought it turned out cute and could be used with other Thanksgiving themed decorations on a side table or as part of a centerpiece.

Pumpkin Pie Card Stock: 8 1/2" x 11"
Chocolate Chip Card Stock
Old Olive Card Stock
Crushed Curry Card Stock

Accessories:
Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
Hemp Twine
Pop-up Glue Dots
Mini Glue Dots
1/16" Handheld Circle Punch
Tag Corner Punch
Crop-a-dile

Instructions:
1. Cut one sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock (8 1/2" x 11") into 3/4" wide strips to form fourteen 3/4" x 8 1/2" strips.

2. Punch hole through top and bottom of strips using Crop-A-Dile.

3. Thread a piece of Hemp Twine through one of the holes and knot the end. Pull the twine up through the other hole, adjust to the depth you want your pumpkin and tie a knot to secure the strips.

4. Fan the strips out evenly. Stamp leaves from your favorite stamp set onto Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Crushed Curry card stock. Cut out and adhere to the top of the pumpkin with mini glue dots.

5. Tie a bow with the Chocolate Chip Ribbon and adhere atop the leaves with a pop-up glue dot.

6. Use the Stampin' Write markers to add color to the Holiday Best stamp, huff on the stamp to moisten it and stamp onto a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock. Use the Corner Tag punch on one end of the tag and the 1/16" punch to pierce a hole in the same end. Add Hemp Twine to the tag and tie around the ribbon.

Days of Wonder

Okay, so this post has nothing to do with Stampin' Up! or paper crafting of any kind, but I just had to share.

Today my husband, Jeff, is preparing to head off to the LA Music Awards. I am so proud of him. He is the most creative person I know. Two years ago he was asked to take a listen to a song and come up with a music video concept. When he first described his vision for the video to me I got the chills. He is so well respected in his industry, he was able to get all the people and equipment he needed to put the project together for the songwriter as a favor to him. Now two years later he is being honored for his vision and hard work. He will accept the Music Video Producer of the Year award tomorrow night. The video was also awarded the Music Video of the Year award. And, to make it even better, our son Joe is the little boy featured in the video.

The song is about a father who lost his son very early in the Iraq war. He still dreams about his son as a young boy, and is proud of his service to his country. The songwriter, Michael Smith, wrote the song the day of the Virginia Tech massacre. He loves his country, but isn't happy with what's going on at the moment. Enjoy...

Ornament Punch Ornament...

This little ornament was made with what else...the Ornament punch. I used four punches from the Thoroughly Modern DSP and sandwiched the Silver Elastic Cord (from the Holiday Mini) between two of the punches. The other two punches I folded in half and used Tombow glue to adhere them at the seam to each side of the ornament. I threaded on the beads and tied off the ends. I thought it was cute. Maybe I could add them as decoration on my Christmas packages too.

Serene Snowflake Cards

I've been working on a bunch of things over the past week and I'm finally getting around to posting them. These two cards were both made using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set from the Holiday Mini. I used Very Vanilla card stock as the base for both cards. Then on a piece of Kraft card stock, I stamped the different snowflakes at random using Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue and Whisper White inks.

On the first card I used the Ornament punch and stamped on it one of the snowflakes first in Not Quite Navy, then again in Whisper White to give it a shadow effect. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

On the second card I added some Not Quite Navy ribbon, tied with some thread and added a 1/2" Circle punch stamped with a snowflake and embellished with a Rhinestone Brad. The Ornament punch on this card is stamped with a sentiment from the Holiday Best level 1 hostess stamp set.

I really love the Ornament stamp and have used it for many of my projects of late. This will become even more apparent in my posts over the next several days.

"The More The Merrier" Shaker Card

This is a cute little shaker card filled with tinsel glitter that, when shaken, looks like snowflakes falling all around the snowmen. Holiday Wishes 2 Ways

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. We made the best of it despite the cold and rain. The kids didn't seem to mind it as much as the adults did. We were freezing and we left our umbrellas back at the house when we thought the rain had stopped. It was really more of a mist and drizzle mix, but after being in it for an hour, our hair was dripping wet by the time we got home....brrrrr.

Both cards below were made using the Holiday Collection stamp set. The first one also uses the Delightful Decorations stamp set with the Ornament punch. Hope you like them....

Thanksgiving Cards

I've been stuck in the house for a few days as my daughter had some virus that kept her running a low fever over the weekend. Fortunately none of the rest of us got it, so that was a relief. The kids are ready for Halloween this Saturday so hopefully the weather will hold out for them.

I've been working on a few cards lately. The two I'm posting today are Thanksgiving themed. The first card I actually made in a class a couple months ago. It uses the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper (115668) and the Autumn Days stamp set (115452) along with Soft Suede and Ruby Red card stock. The sentiment is stamped with the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (115370).

The next card was made using Very Vanilla as the base with Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie accents. The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess stamp set, Holiday Best (115364).

And of course I have to include a picture of the birthday boy.

Sweet Treats...

The other day I wrote about bus driver appreciation day. Well, my son was carrying the gift bag that I made with the pumpkin bread that he and I baked and as he climbed the stairs of the school bus to present the gift to Miss Valerie, he tripped on the last step and fell flat on his face. The bag handles ripped, the cookies fell out...I felt so bad for him. He gathered the bag together and got himself up and then handed it over to the driver. I just knew he would be upset. I wanted to jump on the bus, give him a hug and tell him it was okay. When he got home from school he told me what I had already suspected....he cried the whole way to school because he was so embarrassed....poor little guy.

Well, Sunday is his 7th birthday so we bought goodie bags from the dollar section at Target and embellished them. The pumpkin is made from three Stampin' Up! punches. The Small Oval punch, the Ornament punch and the Round Tab punch. The label is made with the Modern Label punch and the Word Window punch and the "sweet treats" stamp is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Gift Bag

Well tomorrow it's Bus Driver Appreciation Day around here so my son Joe and I baked mini pumpkin breads. After packaging them up, I went to my craft room and made this gift bag to put them in, along with some chocolate chip cookies...yum!

This bag is made from one full 12" x 12" sheet of designer paper. The handles are 3/4" x 12" strips of coordinating designer paper and they are held in place with sticky strip to be sure they hold the weight of the goodies. I used my new markers to color the "for you" stamp from the One of a Kind stamp set. I'm so excited that I can make multi-colored stamps now...

Spongebob Squarepants

I walked into my kid's playroom the other night and saw a printout on the floor with a picture of Spongebob on it and I just had to make him. I think I'm going to use him to adorn the front of my son's 7th birthday card next week. I used basic black, yoyo yellow, real red, whisper white and close to cocoa card stock. Mini Album with Sliders

I made this mini scrapbook album the other day and I think it turned out really cute. I CASEd this design concept from another stamper, Andrea Walford. She is so creative.

Once I add pictures and embellishments, I'll post the final result. The whole thing takes 4 sheets of 8.5" x 11" card stock to create. This entire album contains 20 surface areas, front and back, for pictures or journaling.

I really struggled getting the double sliders to fit just right. I think I wasted 10 sheets of card stock just trying to get the measurements to work out. I ended up creating a template for the sliders. I will try to post the measurements or a template in case you want to give it a try.

Top Note Character Boxes

I've been goofing around with the Top Note die and creating different character boxes. I've already posted Rudolph and the witch, but thought I would post all the rest of the creations. I made the girl one afternoon and my son saw it and told me he wanted me to make a boy. I thought he turned out good...I think I like the boy the best.

Anyway, hope you enjoy them....

This is supposed to be Frosty the Snowman, however I do recognize that he looks more like a clown than a snowman...I don't think the Top Note shape does his face much justice. Oh well...back to the drawing board...

Box in a Bag

It has been a busy week around here and today is more of the same. We have a birthday party to go to this afternoon and a fall festival this evening. Hopefully the weather will hold out...it is looking a bit like rain.

Thought I would post this box in a bag that I made and gave to a friends daughter this week who was in the hospital for a few days and had some surgery but is doing well now. I just love making these because they are easy and cute and you can fill them with anything. I filled this one with candies, but I made some for my daughter's birthday and filled them with various goodies.

Get Well Wishes

Hooray for Friday! I love Friday's and so do my kids. Fridays have officially been dubbed "party nights" at our house...we stay up late, watch movies and eat popcorn together. But before all the partying begins I thought I'd post this card I made today. It is for my grandma who unfortunately took a tumble and broke her wrist...ouch! This card was made with one of the Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' kits which are wonderful. Everything you need is in one kit. All the colors coordinate and there are tons of embellishments to choose from. They are designed for making scrapbook pages, but I love them for all my projects because sometimes coordinating the colors is the hardest part for me. Hope you like it....

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

This box was designed to look like the young Rudolph from the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Christmas show. I used Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White, Real Red, and Basic Black card stock along with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and a number of punches. The Top Note die was used as the base for the box.

Witchy Woman

Well I spent half of the day searching on-line for jobs...yuk. Got word yesterday morning that one of the places I interviewed at was "moving in a different direction" with the job opening they had. Such a stressful roller coaster ride this job search thing can be.

Well the other half of the day I spent losing myself in my craft room making up little boxes for Halloween and Christmas. Today I'm sharing the witch box I made. I used Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Lovely Lilac card stock along with Old Olive and Lovely Lilac classic ink. On the face I used the large oval punch and several different sized circle punches. For the eye lashes I used the large flower from the Boho Blossoms punch. The face is designed on the Top Note die cut with the Big Shot. I'm planning a video tutorial for this piece so check back if you are interested in seeing how I made her step by step.

Big Shot Chest of Drawers

Today was back to school for my kids after a week long break. The kids were very excited to go back which makes it a lot easier for us parents.

Okay Big Shot fans, have I got a box for you. This one uses the Top Note die and the Matchbook die, plus the flower on top is made with the Daisies Flower #2 die. It is constructed with four Matchbooks adhered together and a Top Note on top and bottom. A piece of designer paper wraps around three sides to dress it up. Four rhinestone brads serve as knobs for the drawers. This one was made with Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry card stock with accents from the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper.

This is a favorite of mine, made recently at a workshop (designed by Susan Barron).

Kaleidoscope Pocket Card

Last night our family went to the North Georgia State Fair with my mom and her boyfriend. It was free admission night and ride all the rides for one price. The kids had a blast running from one ride to the next while the adults ate way too much greasy fair food...ah but it is so good.

This pocket card was made with Kaleidoscope designer paper. I also used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and a Build-a-brad as an embellishment...I love those.

Photo Bookmark

Received some exciting news last night that my mom is going to be here today for a one-day visit...totally unexpected (she lives a 12 hour drive away). We are all looking forward to spending the day with her.

Wanted to post this bookmark that I made with supplies from the Simply Scrappin’ “Love Sparkles” kit. I used the So Saffron textured card stock with one of the patterned papers included in the kit. The ribbon is 1/2” Crushed Curry and I’m thinking it is a little off for this piece, but it is what I had on hand. A piece of window sheet protects the picture.

Little Handbag

It was a tough morning around here today. Both my children had their tongues clipped...ouch! Fortunately for all of us they are feeling okay now. Kids amaze me at how pain tolerant they are.

This little handbag idea came from my daughter's eye-glass case that is shaped like a little purse. I made it using the Rich Razzleberry designer paper and ink. Lotsa Blossoms Thank You

Mini Scrapbook

It has a tri-fold section in the middle with places for photos on each side, a little booklet section in the front and a pocket in the back to tuck in little mementos. Cookies For My Friends

For my daughter's 5th birthday last week we baked homemade chocolate chip cookies and packaged them for her classmates.
